UHCL Forum to Feature District E Candidates

Houston City Councilman Mike Sullivan will host a candidates’ forum and town hall meeting on Monday, Oct. 8, at the University of Houston – Clear Lake, 2700 Bay Area Blvd. in the Garden Room of the Bayou Building.

The town hall will begin promptly at 6 p.m., with the candidates’ forum starting at 6:30pm.

As always, representatives from City of Houston departments will present updates on District E projects and be available to answer questions from community members.

With the election for the District E seat drawing near, Sullivan has invited all three candidates to participate in the forum. “Constituent communication has always been a No. 1 priority for me. This forum will allow District E constituents the chance to communicate with the candidates’ and give them the opportunity to gain knowledge about each of the candidates before casting their vote on Nov. 6.”

Sullivan and The Boeing Co. have invited the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering Trailblazer to the town hall meeting.

The Trailblazer is a 40-foot trailer that houses a variety of engineering and science exhibits targeting students in grades 3 to 7. The Trailblazer is the only interactive science and engineering museum-on-wheels in Texas. It engages students, teachers and parents through hands-on activities and exhibits that highlight fundamental concepts in science and engineering. Council Member Sullivan urges citizens of all ages to come out and participate from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Bayou Building.
