UHCL accepts first freshman and sophomore applications

In anticipation of its first freshman and sophomore students, University of Houston-Clear Lake announced that it is now accepting applications for the fall 2104 semester. The applications for future freshmen and sophomores became available Aug. 1.

“We are excited to announce this new development,” says Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Yvette Bendeck. “The Enrollment Management division has been working tirelessly for the past year to help make UH-Clear Lake’s four-year initiative a success, and this reflects just one of our many achievements.”

In 2011, UHCL gained approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to add freshman- and sophomore-level classes to its roster beginning fall 2014. Since that time, it has worked to prepare the upper-level university for the additional students.

Other four-year initiative activities have included the addition of admissions counselors, numerous admissions and recruiting events for high school students, additional university tours and other logistical changes necessary to add new students.
