How To Get The Perfect Beach Look

July 2nd, 2020

As we welcome summertime and warmer weather, most of us will be spending more time outdoors. The Texas heat is no joke, but if you live in Texas, i’m sure you can handle a little heat! There is a lot to look forward to, July 4th, beach parties, outdoor grilling and spending time with friends and loved ones. My personal favorite is enjoying a day at the beach. I prefer my hair and makeup to look natural yet put together when I plan my beach look. Here are a few tips that will help spice up your beach look! Add a cute outfit and sunglasses and you’re good to go!

To create a natural makeup look, I would recommend using an illuminating glow primer. One that hydrates and gently covers imperfections, yet creates a natural dewy glow on your face. I love using Misty Rockwell Cosmetics Flawless Complexion Gel. You can wear by itself or under more makeup. I would then use an eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows. I prefer using The BrowGal eyebrow pencil. Afterwards, I would finish with either a mascara for a natural look, or a faux lash for a more dramatic look.

For the perfect beach hair, I love doing a wavy natural beach look. Without using a curling iron, you can buy a texture spray that creates a beautiful wavy curl. Amika Bushwick Beach no-salt wave spray is my favorite. You can apply on dry or damp hair. The texture is wonderful and it smells amazing. If you prefer to have your hair out of your face, doing a braid is super cute and really in right now!

You can’t forget about sunscreen. If you are enjoying the day outside or at the beach, it’s important to wear sunscreen and protect your skin. I highly suggest Rodan and Fields Reverse Broad Spectrum SPF 50+. It is not sticky, it smells good, and it gives enough coverage to properly protect your skin all day.

Wardrobe wise, I suggest choosing an outfit that you feel most comfortable in. Add a colorful bikini, a cute hat, and a cover up! That’s normally my go-to outfit for the beach. You can pair with wedges, sandals or flip flops depending on location etc. Some incredible local boutiques I recommend are Latitude 29.2 Surf Shop in Crystal Beach, Bungalow Boutique in Beaumont, Tina’s On The Strand in Galveston, and online based store, St. Raine, located in Houston.

Less is more when preparing to go to the beach, but you want to make sure you still look fabulous! These tips will help you look your best, look put together, and are simple to incorporate into your beauty and fashion wheelhouse. Have a great Summer and stay safe! Xo
