League City Police arrest five suspects in burglaries

September 28th, 2015

LCPDFive men were arrested and charged in burglary activity by League City Police early Friday, Sept. 25 after officers were called to break-ins in three different areas.

This morning around 1 o’clock, League City Police officers were dispatched to 805 Davis Road, Wharf townhomes, after a citizen observed two men who, they said, appeared to be cutting a chain or lock off of a boat trailer.

As the officers arrived on scene, witnesses reported the two ran from the area. Officers were able to track and locate them a short distance away. After an investigation, the two men were identified as Jeremy Jones, 27, and Harvey Jones, 33.  Both were subsequently arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument.

About an hour and half later, around 2:30 a.m., while patrolling the same area, 805 Davis Road, witnesses observed two men checking door handles in the Wharf parking lot and called 911.  Officers, already in the area, located two young men inside a parked car. After the officers made contact with the men, they shortly determined they were sitting in a car that did not belong to them and after an investigation, were found to be in possession of stolen property, including a handgun.

They were identified as Brooks Drier, 20, and Patrick Scott, 18. Both were arrested and charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Scott received an additional charge of Theft of a Firearm.

Minutes later, LCPD received reports from a homeowner that his vehicle was in the process of being burglarized in the Sedona neighborhood. Officers arrived and took Dustin Dyson, 21, into custody.

Officers said he was wearing all black and had a backpack containing stolen property from multiple cars. LCPD received reports of at least 10 burglaries in the Sedona neighborhood from this time period, and Dyson was arrested and charged with five counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and was held under a $7,500 bond.

Anyone who may have found or be missing property that may be connected to this case, should contact LCPD at 281-332-2566.
