CCISD Athletic Director Bill Daws receives congratulations from Assistant Director of Athletics Debbie Fuchs after he is inducted in the Hall of Honor at the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association 2014 state conference and banquet.

The Clear Creek ISD Trustees took a moment during their regular board meeting Aug. 18 to recognize CCISD Athletic Director Bill Daws, who was inducted into the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association Hall of Honor during the 2014 state conference and banquet earlier this summer. The Athletic Directors Association chooses members to be honored in recognition of long and meritorious service to athletics and athletic administration in the State of Texas. Nominees must have served as an athletic administrator in the State of Texas at least 10 years. “What an honor to be selected for recognition for the entire State of Texas,” said Daws. “It is humbling to be inducted into the Hall of Honor. Texas leads the way in high school athletics and there are some great people in this state who lead our athletic programs.”

Daws was also chosen as the PBK Sports Athletic Director of the Year by THSADA. This honor is traditionally given to the THSADA president at the end of his term of service. Bill Daws has served as athletic director for Clear Creek ISD since 2003. “Bill Daws has been involved in athletics his entire life,” Clear Creek ISD Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education Scott Bockart explained. “As a four sport letterman in high school, as well as a former high school football, track and baseball coach, Bill Daws has the hands-on experience to lead our secondary athletics programs. He’s done a tremendous job as the district has grown to five comprehensive high schools and ten intermediate schools. We are proud of his accomplishments and believe he is very deserving of the honors bestowed upon him by the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association.”

Daws is a graduate of Texas A & M University, where he majored in agriculture and biology and received his master’s degree in 1990 from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. The 2014-2015 school year marks Daws’ 40th year in public education, including 26 years in athletics and 13 years with campus administration. He is the proud father of two daughters and the proud grandfather of three granddaughters and one grandson. His wife of 37 years, Deanna Daws, is principal of Brookside Intermediate School.
