Two men have been arrested after League City Police responded to an armed bank robbery at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Wells Fargo bank located at 1681 W FM 646.

The suspects were identified as Kevin Riggs, 43, and Ernest Hamilton, 44.  Both Hamilton and Riggs, who are from Houston, are charged with Aggravated Robbery and Evading and are being held on $250,000 bonds.

The armed suspects entered the bank aggressively, pointing semi-automatic pistols at the employees in the bank and demanding money. After receiving an unknown amount of money, the suspects fled in a red 2001 Chrysler van. League City police officers were quick to respond and locate the vehicle nearby.

When the suspects fled on foot into Victory Lakes neighborhood, area law enforcement worked together to rapidly establish a perimeter and notify residents. After an extensive search, both suspects were taken into custody and the vehicle, money, clothing and weapons were all located and collected for evidence.

After the arrests, the League City Police Department said it would like to thank the citizens and businesses for their patience and cooperation leading to a successful arrest.
