Identity theft suspect arrested

unnamedPolice have arrested the suspect in multiple felony identity theft cases after a joint effort by law enforcement agencies.

John Lindsey Follis of Houston was tracked to a location in the Houston area and Houston Police made the arrest based on information developed by deputies with Galveston County Pct. 8 Constable Jerry Fisher’s Office and League City Police.

Based on the number of victims located in Galveston County, a Galveston County Grand Jury  indicted Follis on second degree felony charges for Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information -10 items or more but less than 50.

If convicted, Follis faces imprisonment for 2-20 years and a fine up to $10,000. He remains in custody in Galveston County Jail, in lieu of a $250,000 bond. League City Police said the mid-June arrest came after a lengthy investigation, beginning in March 2014.

The multiagency investigation was conducted by the Galveston, Friendswood, and League City Police Departments. “The League City Police Department is grateful to the public for their willingness to share information through social media and to the law enforcement agencies involved,” a police spokesman said.
