Houston Methodist C. L. maintaining full operations

Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital is maintaining full operations for essential medical needs but continues to deal with some challenging issues due to the cold temperatures and boil notice for city water.

“We are experiencing very crowded emergency room due to patients being unable to meet their medical needs at home without electricity. We are rescheduling many nonurgent surgical procedures for today and tomorrow,” a spokesman said. “A major concern, which we often see in hurricanes, is getting patients dialyzed as the local dialysis centers are not operating for our patients right now. These patients should contact their dialysis center for alternative resources.

We are adequately staffed and our patients who are in-house have adequate water and are safe and comfortable. Despite the situation, we will continue serving our community and continue administering COVID-19 vaccinations as a state-designated hub.”
