CLASP continues programs virtually: Curiosity Rover

The Clear Lake Association of Senior Programs is offering a virtual Zoom event Thursday, May 21 at 2 p.m.

The speaker for the presentation, entitled “The Curiosity Rover: A Day and Life on Mars” is Allan Treiman, senior staff scientist at the Lunar and Planetary Institute at NASA. The Curiosity Rover has been rolling across the hills inside Gale Crater on Mars for over 7 years. Since landing, it has traversed about 20 kilometers and is now on its way up a mountain in the center of the Gale.

Treiman will present background about Mars and the Mars Science Laboratory mission, discuss daily operations, and the team’s successes toward Curiosity’s main goal: the search for evidence of habitable environments on Mars.
